Alessandra Cecala and Mauro Ferrarese have been musically collaborating for nearly 20 years, spreading pre-war folk in its many facets.
Alessandra on double bass and Mauro on resonator guitar/12-string/banjo create a musical backdrop for their voices, revisiting everything that could be defined as pop in the 1920s and 1930s, but which we now know as pre-war blues, gospel, work songs, old-time music, and early jazz.
In these interpretations, musical genres blend to restore luster to songs that take us back a century.
They have performed in Italy, France, the United Kingdom, and New Orleans.
This event will feature both old standards and new stories from "Echoes 'long the Path" and the pre-war gospel of "Singin' in My Soul," recorded by Mauro Ferrarese in 2025.
On this occasion, The Sacred Roots will include Andrea Di Giuseppe on harmonica, an essential instrument for any respectable string band.
Line Up: Alessandra Cecala - vocals, double bass | Mauro Ferrarese - vocals, resonator guitar/12-string/banjo | Andrea Di Giuseppe - Harmonica
