de Pisis, the greats of the '900…The soul of the "Rimoldi" and its evolution

From July 1, 2026, the Mario Rimoldi Museum of Modern Art in Cortina d'Ampezzo will reopen with a major exhibition entirely dedicated to the extraordinary Rimoldi Collection, one of the most important private collections of Italian art from the twentieth century.

The exhibition path unfolds over three floors: on the ground floor, the absolute protagonist is Filippo de Pisis, the symbol artist of the collection, celebrated in the 70th anniversary of his passing and the 130th of his birth; on the second floor, the great masters of the twentieth century who marked the history of Italian art are showcased; on the first floor, the works that became part of the museum after its foundation in 1974 are exhibited, a testament to a collection in continual evolution, capable of fostering dialogue between different languages, eras, and sensitivities.

With 54 works by de Pisis, the Museum narrates the deep bond between the painter and the collector Mario Rimoldi, who recognized his talent as early as 1929.

Quick brushstrokes, poetry of the everyday, nature, landscapes, and figures become images of rare emotional intensity.
