I want to feel the snow: a tale of struggle and rebirth against eating disorders.

The Municipality of Fonzaso, through the Civic Library, promotes the meeting "Body, identity, and fragility": eating disorders between literature and prevention," an evening dedicated to reflecting on one of the most widespread and complex issues of our time, capable of intertwining psychological, relational, social, and cultural aspects.

The focus of the meeting will be the presentation of the autobiographical novel "I want to feel the snow" by Cristina Lora, an intense and profoundly authentic work that describes the troubled journey of a young woman grappling with an eating disorder experienced during adolescence.

Through an intimate and rhetoric-free narrative, the author takes the reader into a dark universe filled with silences, fears, feelings of inadequacy, and an obsessive search for control, showing how the relationship with food often ends up representing the most evident symptom of a deep discomfort.

In the book, the body becomes the place where inexpressible emotions, inner fragilities, and identity conflicts manifest, simultaneously recalling the desire to return to perceiving emotions, the world, and oneself without the filter of pathology.

Completing the reflection will be the contributions of Virginia Giuffrida, President of the Margherita Fenice Association of Belluno, and Psychologist Federico Caforio, who will provide a detailed overview of the phenomenon in the context of the Province of Belluno, also highlighting the numerous activities that the association has been carrying out for years to support individuals and their families, focusing in particular on the many prevention, education, and awareness projects developed in schools.

Through the autobiographical account and the contributions of professionals working daily in the field, the evening will offer tools to read the phenomenon of eating disorders with greater depth, aiming to promote a culture of prevention based on listening, information, and the care of human relationships.
