Commedia “Innocenti, ma non troppo”

The theater group I Comelianti presents its play titled “Innocents, but not too much.”

In a meadow, the body of a man, the little-loved husband of a beautiful lady, is discovered.

Perhaps he was accidentally killed by an old man, maybe a prim spinster, or perhaps the wife...

The protagonists of this sort of hilarious "Cluedo," busy with a corpse to make disappear and... reappear, give life to a series of comical events and grotesque situations: how will they get out of it?

Perhaps guilty or, maybe innocent, but not too much...

Loosely inspired by Alfred Hitchcock's film "The Conspiracy of Innocents," the play captures the atmosphere of the 1950s in a small American rural town, with all its picturesque human cases.

With this particular piece, which refers to one of the most singular works of the master of thrill, I Comelianti propose a fast-paced comedy with an essential setup.

The space is defined by the relationships between the characters, and the scenery supports the web woven by the protagonists.

The text, ironic and subtle, entertains but also, in a sense, makes one reflect: in the delightful kermesse of relationships, complicity, alliances, and subterfuge, it clearly emerges how fleeting truth can be.

And we hope, in the investigation to find the culprits, to elicit some smiles from you... strictly noir!
