The Vecia that is burned is the symbol of the ugly memories of the past year going away and the wish for good luck for the year that is starting. We leave from the square in Costalissoio all together and head through the main streets of the town to pick up the torches, then parade back to the square. After a series of games with fire, the torches are extinguished on the Vecia that will burn. The Befana will make her entrance to give gifts to the children. Lots of music, joy, and drinks!
