The Sedico Carnival is an unmissable event, famous above all for its spectacular parade of allegorical floats. The Sedico carnival is a tradition that has been completely rediscovered over the last thirty years and is now a hugely popular event.
Its roots date back to the early 1900s, when the masked parade passed through all the hamlets, culminating in the central square.
Between volunteers, participants and organisers, the event involves around two thousand people! A number that gives an idea of the strength and dedication behind it. The volunteers, true “carnival enthusiasts”, have been working non-stop since November, meeting in improvised workshops. Spending hours together, people of all ages socialise and bring magic to life: from the conception of allegorical figures to the preparation of iron structures, from papier-mâché work to painting figures, from costume design to choreography: hours of work to give shape to a collective work of great ingenuity and craftsmanship.
The programme is packed: parades of allegorical floats, including at night; a day dedicated entirely to children, with masked groups from the local schools; theatre evenings, gastronomic events and the traditional lottery. If you can't wait to get involved in the most fun and playful side of the festival, this is the Carnival for you.
