Sentiero della Val Schenèr, Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II (Piazza Maggiore) - 32032 Feltre (BL) IT (0039) 04392540 feltrino@dolomitiprealpi.it www.dolomitiprealpi.it

A trail at the foot of the Vette Feltrine, allowing you to walk along what remains of the historic Via dello Schenèr.

This is also the name of the book by the Feltrine historian Matteo Melchiorre, which encompasses numerous archival researches on the events of the ancient mule track that for centuries was the only communication route between Primiero and Bellunese. A journey immersed in history and with a real possibility of exploring these places through a fascinating walk.

Starting from Zorzoi, one heads towards the hamlet of Bettola, following the white-blue signs. After passing the “Capitel dei Tuu”, you continue alongside the remains of the border castle called “Castel Schenèr”.

After crossing the stream, one continues towards the “Capitel delle Roe” and shortly after takes a road on the left, which will allow you to proceed on the walk towards the hamlet of Port until the Riparo Villabruna del Cacciatore della Val Rosna. The body, dating back to 14 thousand years ago, was discovered in these areas in 1987 by Aldo Villabruna during the works to rectify the existing roadway.

Finally, it is advisable to return along the same path.
