A small jewel in mountain Gothic style, founded in the 13th century, rebuilt starting in 1421 and reconsecrated in 1438. The old bell tower (1454 – 1456) with its characteristic "onion" dome was renovated in 1765. The church is located in a dominant position over the valley in a landscape of high charm due to its particular natural beauty. Here passed the ancient mule track that was also used for the transport of iron ore extracted from the nearby mines of Fursil and timber that was then transported to Venice and to Forcella Forada, a necessary passage for the connection with Cadore. This road was also traversed by the pioneer of mountaineering Paul Grohmann in September 1863, accompanied by the Zuliani brothers from Selva, when he established a new ascent route to Pelmo. All of this is remembered on the plaque beneath the bronze sculpture placed on the
boulder next to the church.
On the main façade of the church
dominates the gigantic fresco of Saint Christopher (15th century), visible from afar, and at the top is the image of Saint Fosca (17th century) painted.
The interior is characterized by harmonious Gothic linearity, and the visitor will be attracted by the splendid tabernacle that dominates the main altar, attributed to Andrea Brustolon, the most important Baroque artist from Belluno.
