PERAROLO DI CADORE
BETWEEN TIMBER MERCHANTS AND RAFTSMEN
Accompanied by the tour guide Marta Azzalini. A journey to immerse oneself in the history of timber floating along the Piave, starting with a visit to the Museum of Cidolo and Timber, which tells the story of this important raw material's journey from Perarolo, a true river port, to Venice. The museum is housed in the "House of Trophies" of Palazzo Lazzaris, also known as the "palace of the Queen," since it hosted Queen Margherita and King Vittorio Emanuele between 1881 and 1882.
The visit continues with the palace garden that offers glimpses of fake ruins created in the 19th century according to the taste of the time and with the special parish church dedicated to San Nicolò, patron saint of raftmen and those who worked with and on water, recently reopened to the public.

Admission fees: Museum of Cidolo and Timber (€3 per person, maximum 30 people)
