Vico Calabrò is a painter capable of conveying his inexhaustible joy of life, his gratitude for the profession he has chosen and practices in response to an authentic vocation, through his unmistakable style, with his grotesque, playful, ethereal, romantic characters, and the landscapes infused with lyricism, immersed in dreaming atmospheres.
Born in Agordo in 1938, residing in Caldogno (VI), Vico Calabrò began his relationship with the city of Feltre in 1971, called there by the gallerist Gino Possiedi to create the series of lithographs of Feltre, inspired by stories and events from Feltre drawn from different sources.
This close connection with the city continued over the years with the frescos created in the Sanctuary of Saints Martyrs Victor and Corona in 1975 and subsequently with the countless works on Feltre subjects and the wall paintings that he has scattered, both inside and outside, the buildings in the area.
The artist from Agordo also painted capitals on sacred subjects and fragments of surrounding walls.
In the good fresco technique , Calabrò is a recognized master: he has trained a group of students in various courses, has been part of study commissions on the subject, and is a key figure within the Study Center “Casa degli affreschi” in Facen di Pedavena and in the International School for Fresco Technique in Feltre.
In the rooms of the Rizzarda Gallery, it will be possible to admire over 160 works by this multifaceted artist.
