"Sensi"... che forma hanno i ricordi...?

THE EXPERIENCE: AN ARCHITECTURE OF THE INVISIBLE

From September 11 to 27, the spaces of the former Monte dei Pegni in Feltre host SENSI, an extraordinary visual and sensory installation created by Marco Maccagnan.

A place born to safeguard material goods and life stories that transforms into a place of memory.

The exhibition invites the visitor to reflect on the value of memories, their fragility, and the necessity to take care of them.
The journey unfolds as a sensory experience involving sight, sound, and smell.

Every environment becomes an integral part of the work: the stone, the cracks in the walls, the floors, and the ancient spaces of the safe engage in dialogue with images, projections, light interventions, and soundscapes, giving rise to an intimate narrative that opens up to a universal dimension.

Welcoming the audience is a figure suspended in time, accompanied by a phrase that becomes the guiding thread of the entire exhibition: “We must take care of our memories because we cannot live them a second time.”
From this moment, the visitor is invited to follow a path marked by subtle golden interventions that traverse the cracks of the building.

Inspired by the Japanese philosophy of Kintsugi, these signs do not hide the wounds of time, but make them part of the beauty of the work, transforming the fractures into precious traces of what has been experienced.
The heart of the exhibition is located in the ancient safe of the Monte dei Pegni where the space becomes intimate and silent.

The fragrance of childhood – born from a special collaboration with the olfactory designer Claudia Scattolini (who curated the aroma, diffusion, and communication in national and international magazines) – the rhythm of a heartbeat and a breath, along with delicate projections of details of the human body, create an immersive environment in which the memory is not simply observed but lived.

Small almost imperceptible movements evoke the way memory preserves the most precious moments: not as perfect images, but as vivid fragments capable of resurfacing with surprising intensity.
The Architecture of the Invisible is a reflection on time and memory, but also on the capacity of art to safeguard what risks vanishing.

In an era dominated by speed and the accumulation of images, the exhibition invites slowing down, listening, remembering, and recognizing in our memories the most precious heritage we possess.

An emotional journey that transforms a place of material custody into a space dedicated to the preservation of the invisible: memory, affections, and lived time.

THE CHARITY PROJECT
All proceeds generated from donations from visitors and, on the closing day, from the delivery/sale of the exhibition catalog (containing a unique numbered work and a package with 5 ml of the olfactory essence) will be entirely donated to the Pediatrics Department of Feltre for palliative care.

THE ARTIST'S PATH
The artistic research of Marco Maccagnan has its roots in the world of furniture and design. After starting out as a shop owner and gaining solid experience as an interior designer and designer, his path has evolved towards contemporary art. In recent years, he has participated in group exhibitions in Rome, Venice (with the last two participations in 2025), New York, London, Barcelona, and various Italian cities, expressing himself through photography, video, and video installations.
