TWO APPOINTMENTS TO DISCOVER THE IRON WORKING
From the Middle Ages to the present day
The Ladin Fodom Museum offers two excursions to explore the history and tradition of iron working in the Fodom area.
Two simple walks will allow participants to immerse themselves in local history and search for the traces still present of ancient activities related to the working of the precious metal, guided in discovering the territory and its testimonies.
September 27 – ANDRAZ • COLLAZ • LARZONEI
A route of about 7.7 km with a 400 m elevation gain, through places that preserve evidence of the presence and working of iron in the past.
October 31 – SORARUAZ • VALLAZZA • LIVINÈ
A second route of about 7.5 km with a 300 m elevation gain, in search of other historical traces related to iron working. A taxi return is planned.
Meeting: 9.00 a.m. in Piazza a Pieve
Return: in the early afternoon
Lunch: packed
Cost: €15 for adults; free for residents of the Municipality of Livinallongo and for children
Reservation required by 1.00 p.m. on the previous day.
An opportunity to combine nature, history, and Ladin culture, rediscovering an ancient activity that has contributed to the history and development of the Fodom communities.
