Sunday, July 5, 2026, the heart of the Dolomites beats again to the rhythm of its most identity-filled celebration: the Sagra d'Ampezzo.

From the early hours of the morning, the historic center comes alive with colors, scents, and encounters. The town's streets turn into a lively path of stalls, crafts, local products, and curiosities, while residents and visitors share the same festive atmosphere that has represented one of the most cherished events of the Ampezzo summer for decades.

But the real show arrives in the afternoon.

The six historic Sestieri d'Ampezzo — Alverà, Azzon, Cadin, Chiave, Cortina, and Zuel — take to the field to compete for the prestigious summer Palio, a tradition that continues to safeguard the identity and sense of belonging of the local community.

Tension rises during the Palio di corsa, where women, men, and children compete for the colors of their sestiere. Adrenaline explodes in the tiro alla fune, while the audience holds its breath in front of the spectacular log chopping contest, a challenge that recalls the ancient wood traditions of the valley and still today represents one of the most awaited moments of the event.
