On Saturday, October 3, there will be a guided walk for the SabatAmbientali series - Excursions in nature, art, history, and traditions of Val Belluna and surroundings: CUGNAN AND COL DI CUGNAN between history, faith, nature, and landscapes.
Cugnan is one of the most charming gems of the Municipality of Ponte nelle Alpi, with a historic village that preserves the ancient roots of the community, maintaining the rural charm of the past. Its most precious treasure is the ancient church of San Silvestro. Walking through the streets of Cugnan allows us to admire traditional architecture, with houses and rustic buildings made of fine local stone that narrate a past of peasant life.
Col di Cugnan, positioned at a height, serves as an extraordinary panoramic balcony over Val Belluna, Longarone, Canal del Piave, and the Conca dell’Alpago. In the parish church, there is an ancient altarpiece, a polyptych, recently restored, which is indicated by experts as one of the rare testimonies of Belluno's artistic production from the first two decades of the 15th century.
Walking between villages awakens the taste for observation, not just of the flowers, but also of the doors, the scenery, and the landscape.
