In the year of the tenth anniversary of the MUSAL – Albino Luciani Museum, the Papa Luciani Foundation celebrates the occasion through the programming and organization of weekly summer cultural events that will take place throughout the months of July and August. These events aim to promote culture, local history, and faith, while also leaving ample room for music and new publications.
On Tuesday, August 25 at the conference room of the MUSAL – Albino Luciani Museum in Canale d’Agordo, there will be a presentation of the volume: “We are the Gospel - A Thought for Each Day,” authored by Cardinal and Secretary of State of the Holy See, Pietro Parolin. The event will feature a dialogue with the journalist and curator of the work, Romina Gobbo, accompanied by Don Davide Fiocco, theologian and member of the Board of the Vatican Foundation John Paul I.
The meeting will guide the audience through a path of daily meditation, deepening the inner aspect of the Christian message lived in everyday life, in a harmonious synthesis between personal spirituality, attention to creation, and the great challenge of the international diplomacy of the Church. The audience will be introduced to a cultural and spiritual itinerary that will unveil the genesis of the volume, published by the Catholic Promotion Editorial Association (AEPC) of Vigodarzere. The text collects, for the very first time, a rich compendium of interventions, speeches, and exhortations by Cardinal Parolin, offering a reflection for each day of the entire year.
The title of the work itself is inspired by a famous exhortation from Cardinal Elia Dalla Costa, a historical spiritual model for the author. During the dialogue, key themes dear to both Parolin and the memory of Pope Luciani will be addressed – such as the tireless search for peace, social justice, and care for creation seen as a gift from God – providing a valuable ethical compass for navigating the complexities of the contemporary world.
The appointment is further strengthened by the experience of the speakers: Don Davide Fiocco will offer a privileged testimony on the cultural and ideal bond that unites the Secretary of State (current President of the Vatican Foundation John Paul I) with the legacy of the "Pope of Smiles." The presentation will allow for an understanding of how the highest ecclesiastical magisterium can be translated into simple, intimate words that are close to the life of every person.
The Papa Luciani Foundation is pleased to share this proposal with pilgrims visiting Canale d’Agordo, providing informational materials free of charge. The brochures aim to accompany pilgrims and visitors through culture and the discovery of local history, the great figures from the native valley of Pope Luciani, and music.
