Presentation of the Library of the Study Center with Elena Turro

In the year of the tenth anniversary of MUSAL – Albino Luciani Museum, the Papa Luciani Foundation enhances the occasion through the programming and organization of weekly summer cultural events that will take place throughout the months of July and August.

These events aim to promote culture, local history, and faith, while also providing ample space for music and new publications.

On Sunday, August 23, 2026, the Albino Luciani Museum in Canale d'Agordo will host a special evening dedicated to discovering a precious cultural heritage of the area: the presentation of the Library of the Study Center.

Leading us on this journey through historical documents, rare volumes, and unique testimonies will be the librarian Elena Turro.

The meeting will allow us to delve into the heart of the Study Center of the Papa Luciani Foundation, a true treasure chest of memory that houses the specialized library on the figure of Albino Luciani, as well as historical book and archival collections from the Pieve of Canale d'Agordo.

During the evening, we will discover how the roots of the community intertwine among these shelves and the formation of the "Pope of Smiles": from the books of the historic Circulating Library of the 19th century, where the very young Albino took his first steps as a reader, to the documents that recount centuries of history of the Biois Valley.
