La bicicletta e il badile

Fiab Feltreinbici and the T.A.M group of the CAI Feltre Section present "The Bicycle and the Badile," a film by Alberto Valtellina and Maurizio Panseri. 

The extraordinary feat accomplished by Hermann Buhl in 1952: the long journey by bicycle from Landeck (Austria) to the Italian-Swiss border, followed by the solo ascent of the north face of Pizzo Badile (Via Cassin). A story of effort, but also energetic enthusiasm, spirit of sacrifice, and a sense of adventure at 360 degrees. The Austrian climber, with little money, resorts to the bicycle. The perfect vehicle for free spirits. It costs nothing, you leave and return whenever you want, the journey becomes an integral part of the endeavor: one could define it as the first example of train + bike + climbing!
