The program includes the performance of a series of musical pieces by composers from the Baroque period to the present, drawn from sacred texts (requiems, hymns, prayers, etc.) that describe, in various forms, the horizon of the “transcendent.”
The human condition, characterized by unavoidable constraints (birth and death), is represented in music to evoke contrasting moods: inner reflection, contemplation, sadness, resignation, or hope, peace, and serenity in the anticipation of the “divine.”
The intent of this concert is to focus the audience's listening on the variety of music and composers that describe the “transitus animæ,” while simultaneously offering reflections and emotional engagement.
