Michael Dotson (1957) is one of the most requested sidemen on the Chicago Blues scene.
As a teenager, after seeing Muddy Waters in concert, he made his entry into the fiery Chicago scene.
Influenced by listening to giants such as Otis Rush, Buddy Guy, and Junior Wells, he later had the honor of playing alongside many of his youth idols.
For six years he was a member of Magic Slim's Teardrops, with whom he won the WC Handy Award for "best band of 2003," and later became one of the frontmen of the legendary Mississippi Heat, alongside harmonica player and leader Pierre Lacoque and singer Inetta Visor.
He has performed at the most prestigious American festivals, such as the San Francisco Blues Festival, the King Biscuit Blues Festival, and the Mississippi Valley Blues Festival, and around the world in Europe, Japan, and Brazil. He has numerous collaborations, including those with Homesick James, Billy Boy Arnold, Jimmy Burns, Willie Kent, Big Jack Johnson, and Little MacSimmons, with whom he has recorded extensively.
Accompanying him is an all-Italian band with musicians boasting countless collaborations with artists from the international Blues scene: on harmonica Marco Pandolfi, on bass Simone Luti, and on drums Vincenzo Barattin.
