Crono Sora 'l Sas

A climb that is a journey back in time: from Forno di Zoldo to Rifugio Angelini Sora 'l Sass following the ancient paths of shepherds, woodcutters, and hunters.

The wild and mysterious Spiz di Mezzodì will be the backdrop for the first edition of this mountain running race uphill, in both competitive and non-competitive forms, with staggered starts every 30". 

Starting from 850 mt in the village of Forno di Là, passing by the spring Aiva del Boschét, we steadily climb through the beech forest along the Triòl dei Aialét (cai trail 534), passing through Pausa Piccola, Mezzana and Granda, once stopping places for livestock heading to the upper pastures.  

At an altitude of 1170m, we leave the main track to take the Triòl del Vach de Mezodì, a less frequented variant that will take us, through woods and clearings on a now more runnable and faster trail, to the old pasture of Casera del Mezodì (1350 mt). The path returns to the forest and, after a stretch of smooth trail, leads us to the foot of the Valòn Pìcol, where the final steep climb awaits us on a winding track to finally ascend to the small plateau of Sora 'l Sas and then to the finish line.

The Rifugio Angelini at 1588 mt will be the arrival point, a place for refreshment and celebrations for a second time spent in company, in a location of great beauty where the gaze will freely wander over the peaks of the Spiz di Mezodì and the other summits of the Dolomites of Val di Zoldo.

Uphill climb of 4.5 km and 750 m D+ (competitive and non-competitive)

Participants will start one at a time at intervals of 30 seconds. The maximum time set is 2 hours.

In the arrival area, at Rifugio Angelini - Sora'l Sas, the "post-race" will take place.
The return to the starting point will be done independently on foot following the race route in reverse.

Alongside the competitive race, a non-competitive run will also take place that, while maintaining the route and rules, does not require the presentation of a sports medical certificate.

REGISTRATIONS

By July 5, registration is possible at the price of €25 by visiting the tourist offices of Val di Zoldo (hours), or online at this address.
Registrations can also be completed on the day of the race at the bib distribution from 08:00 to 09:00 in the area adjacent to the start, in that case, the fee to be paid will be €30.

The fee also includes:

- a gadget for all participants
- refreshment at the finish
- “pasta party at altitude” at the refuge “Sora ‘l Sas” after the race
- transport of bags for changing clothes at the finish
