Crono Sora 'l Sas

A uphill time trial that is a journey back in time: from Forno di Zoldo to Rifugio Angelini Sora 'l Sass following the ancient paths of shepherds, woodcutters, and hunters.

The wild and mysterious Spiz di Mezzodì will be the backdrop for the first edition of this uphill mountain running race, both competitive and non-competitive, with staggered starts every 30". 

From the 850 mt of the village of Forno di Là, passing by the spring Aiva del Boschét, one climbs steadily through the beech forest along the Triòl dei Aialét (trail cai 534), weaving through Pausa Piccola, Mezzana, and Granda, once resting places for livestock headed to the higher pastures.  

At an altitude of 1170m, the main trail is left to take the Triòl del Vach de Mezodì, a less frequented variant that will lead us, through woods and clearings on a now more runnable and faster course, to the old pasture of Casera del Mezodì (1350 mt - refreshment point). The path returns to the forest and, after a still flowing stretch, deposits us at the foot of Valòn Pìcol, where the final steep climb on a winding trail awaits us to finally ascend to the small plateau of Sora 'l Sas and thus to the finish line.

The Rifugio Angelini at 1588 mt will therefore be the arrival point, refreshment, and celebrations for a second time together, in a place of great beauty where the gaze will wander freely over the peaks of the Spiz di Mezodì and the other summits of the Dolomites of Val di Zoldo.

Uphill time trial of 4.5 km and 750 m D+ (competitive and non-competitive)

Participants will start one at a time at intervals of 30 seconds. The maximum time set is 2 hours.

In the arrival area, at Rifugio Angelini - Sora'l Sas, the "post-race" will take place.
The return to the start will occur independently on foot following the race route backward.

Simultaneously with the competitive race, a non-competitive run will take place which, while maintaining the route and regulations, does not require the submission of a sports medical certificate.

REGISTRATIONS

By July 4 , it is possible to register for the fee of 25 € by visiting the tourist offices of Val di Zoldo (hours), or online at this address.
Registrations can also be made on the day of the race during bib distribution from 08:00 to 09:00 in the area adjacent to the start; in this case, the fee to be paid will be 30 €.

The fee also includes:

- gadget for all participants
- refreshment at the finish
- "pasta party at altitude" at the refuge "Sora 'l Sas" after the race
- transportation of bags for changing clothes at the finish
