This concert features a very special program to be listened to, as it consists of compositions that are rarely performed in chamber music concerts: the complete works of quartets for flute and strings composed by Domenico Cimarosa, born in Aversa (NA) in 1749 and died in Venice in 1801. Considered one of the greatest Italian musicians of the Classicism, he greatly contributed to the development of opera buffa, famous for “Il matrimonio segreto,” but he also wrote sacred, vocal, and instrumental music.
The Baroque musicians of Venice arise from the meeting of flutist Enzo Caroli with Venetian musicians who all studied at the Benedetto Marcello Conservatory. The members, united by their interest and passion for Baroque music performed with period instruments, have an internationally prestigious curriculum with experiences ranging from concert performances to teaching, orchestral, and recording experiences.
