From December 16, 2025, to March 1, 2026, it will be possible to access the Serrai di Sottoguda. Access to the site is only permitted on foot, exclusively from the Sottoguda side, and is done at one's own risk and with full awareness
of the natural risks inherent in the winter mountain environment. Users (hikers and climbers) are required to strictly adhere to safety regulations and mandatory equipment provisions, assuming responsibility for any consequences of imprudent behavior or non-compliance with these provisions; PROHIBITIONS
– Prohibition of access to unauthorized motorized vehicles.
– Prohibition of access and descent with any type of skis, sleds, toboggans, or similar means.
– Prohibition of leaving the beaten track, except for climbers heading to the ice waterfalls.
– Prohibition of access without the following mandatory safety devices: safety helmet, crampons (or equivalent devices for progress on ice/hard snow), avalanche transceiver (ARTVA), shovel, and probe;
– Prohibition of access to the site with an avalanche danger rating of 4 or higher (European avalanche danger scale).
– Prohibition of performing actions or behaviors that expose oneself or others to risk, such as climbing on railings or leaning over cliffs or ice and rock drops.
OBLIGATIONS
– Equip oneself and use the above-mentioned safety devices correctly;
– Keep to the beaten track, except as required for climbers heading to the waterfalls;
– Not to expose oneself from the railings, nor linger in areas marked as dangerous or subject to falling materials;

– Pay constant attention to possible snow, ice, or rock falls from the overhanging walls;
– Respect all safety signage, including temporary signage related to variable track conditions;
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Access for the winter season is free and does not require an entry ticket. Dogs are allowed as long as they are accompanied by people who meet the above behavioral and equipment requirements. There is no equipment rental point at the start of the route, so one must be equipped before entering. Parking will be available in Sottoguda near the entrance to the Serrai or alternatively at Pian, and the entrance can be reached on foot.
The Municipality of Rocca Pietore cannot be held responsible for any damages, inconveniences, or consequences arising from access to or stay in the area. Anticipated closures or extensions of opening may be ordered by the municipal administration based on seasonal developments, climatic and snow conditions, and the continued fulfillment of safety requirements at the site.
