The Hermitage of the Romiti, evocative silences
From the parking lot beyond the bridge over the lake of Centro Cadore (municipality of Domegge), we ascend into the woods via a path or dirt road until we reach this place that was chosen by a group of hermit monks in the 18th century. They built a church, a convent, and chapels in the woods. Their simple story is intertwined with the great European history, and we will discover how. The main building has been renovated and now houses a cozy refuge open all year round, a balcony overlooking Centro Cadore.
Difficulty: medium-easy. Elevation gain: 400m. Time: 3-4 hours (excluding breaks).
