At the Le Muse Art Gallery in Cortina d'Ampezzo, until August 31, the exhibition "The Evolving Soul - Visions between the 19th and 20th Century" is set up.
Among the selected works, particular attention should be given to Piancastagnaio (1883-1886), oil on canvas, by Telemaco Signorini.
It is one of the most famous paintings by the Florentine artist, depicting a lively street in the town, in the province of Siena, on Monte Amiata. The work belonged to Riccardo Carnielo, a sculptor and great Macchiaiolo collector. The exhibition also features "Un Alto, circa 1881, oil on canvas, by Giovanni Fattori, whose bicentennial of birth occurs this year.
The exhibition is promoted and organized by the Municipality of Livorno in collaboration with the Matteucci Institute of Viareggio.
The work that serves as the manifesto of the exhibition is also noteworthy, by the most refined painter of the Belle Époque, known as the portraitist of elegant, slender, and graceful women, Giovanni Boldini, who is represented with the work "Boats in Venice," 1895, oil on panel.
