2nd appointment of the review “Autumn at the Theater in Comelico 2025”.

The company (S)legati presents the show titled “(S)legati”, by and with Jacopo Bicocchi and Mattia Fabris.

The show tells the true story of climbers Joe Simpson and Simon Yates.

It is the story of an ambitious dream: to be the first in the world to climb Siula Grande from the west face.

But it is also the story of a friendship, and of the rope that, during that terrible endeavor, ties these two young men together. The rope that puts one life in the hands of the other. As always happens in the mountains.

Thus, there is a summit to reach, there is the exhausting conquest of the peak, there is the joy of the successful endeavor and finally, when the worst is over, there is life, that trips you up, and there is death, that winks: a terrible accident at high altitude.

During a trivial maneuver, Joe breaks his leg. From that moment on, everything changes.

The goal becomes to return alive: at 5,800 meters, a fracture can turn into a death sentence, the two young men are aware of this, but despite the desperate conditions, they attempt a rescue operation.

Everything seems to be working until, just when the difficulties seem to be overcome, there is another unexpected event: and then comes the gesture, that gesture that no climber would ever want to be forced to make: Simon is compelled to cut the rope that connects him to his companion.

A gesture that separates their united fates. That (s)ties their destinies forever.

However, that extreme act, in this miraculous case, will save both their lives: they both will manage to return alive to base camp.

And unexpectedly find themselves there after 4 days. It is the story of a miracle. Of an adventure beyond human limits.
