The Papa Luciani Foundation of Canale d'Agordo Onlus organizes the concert of the Trio Sophia entitled "The Wonders of Venetian Baroque," in honor of the 47th edition of the annual "Summer Appointment with Pope Luciani," the event organized by Musal – Museo Albino Luciani of Canale d'Agordo.
The event will take place on Thursday, July 24 at 9:00 PM at the monumental Church of San Simon in Vallada Agordina, in the Belluno area.
This is an absolutely unique appointment, just as unique as the location where this refined trio will perform, namely the Monumental Church of San Simon, nestled on the picturesque Colle Celentòne. Declared an Italian National Monument as far back as 1877, the church is one of the most evocative examples of Alpine Gothic and represents a true cultural jewel of the Agordino, in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites.
Thus, the evening will unite the elegance of chamber music with the timeless charm of a building that, with its architecture and frescoes, tells centuries of devotion and beauty. The event, titled The Wonders of Venetian Baroque, offers a fascinating musical journey through the works of the great masters of the Baroque, in perfect harmony with the sacredness and historical beauty of the place.
The Trio Sophia is considered a point of reference in the international organistic landscape. The trio was formed in Verona in 2002 from the artistic encounter between Alessandra De Negri, Marco Vincenzi and Lilian Stoimenov. Due to its characteristic of stable union, Trio Sophia can tackle complex and often unknown repertoires, bringing to light masterpieces that are otherwise seldom performed in a concert setting.
To ensure a serene and enjoyable experience for all participants, it is advisable to arrive a little early, given the limited parking availability near the church. Alternatively, parking is available at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Sachet and you can reach San Simon with a scenic walk of about 15 minutes.
