On the occasion of the Day of Remembrance, the Auditorium of San Pietro becomes a place for reflection and listening, hosting the meeting "Resistance without Arms: The I.M.I. in Nazi Camps".
An event that invites us to look at history from a perspective that is often underrepresented: that of the Italian Military Interns, men who, after 1943, chose refusal and dignity, paying for their choice with imprisonment in Nazi concentration camps.
Through the historical and human account of speaker Giovanni Monico, school manager, and the support of video projections, the meeting retraces the events of a silent resistance, marked by daily sacrifice and loyalty to one’s own values.
The images and words intertwine to convey faces, stories, and fragments of life that help to understand the significance of that experience.
A moment of shared memory, designed not only to commemorate but to question the meaning of individual and collective responsibility. An opportunity to pause, listen, and preserve a story that continues to resonate with the present, so that memory is not just recollection, but awareness.
Organized by ANPI La Spasema and ISBREC, with the sponsorship of the Municipality of Borgo Valbelluna, the event will take place on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 5:30 PM at the Auditorium of Mel.
