The Hermitage of the Hermits, suggestive silences
From the parking lot beyond the bridge on the lake of Centro Cadore (municipality of Domegge), we ascend into the woods by path or forest road until we reach this place that in the 18th century was chosen by a group of hermit monks. They built a church, the convent, and chapels in the woods. Their simple story is intertwined with the grand European narrative, and we will discover how. The main building has been renovated and now houses a cozy refuge open all year round, a balcony overlooking Centro Cadore. Picnic lunch or at the refuge.
Difficulty: medium-easy. Elevation gain: 400m. Time: 3-4 hours (excluding breaks).
