A Winter Solstice with the Krampus at Rifugio Averau

Rifugio Averau celebrates the longest night of the year with a unique event dedicated to the pagan traditions and pre-Christian rites that have survived in the Dolomites for over five centuries. An atmospheric evening, created in collaboration with Anpezo Teufel, where Krampus, fire, and music will guide guests on a journey through history, myth, and legend.

A storyteller will lead the night — in both Italian and English — explaining the origins of these customs: why the Krampus exist, what solstice fires represent, which rituals were practiced in the valleys, and how these traditions have reached us today.

A fire and sound performance will make the experience intense and immersive.

Useful information:

• Chairlift ascent followed by snowmobile transfer to the rifugio at 8:00 PM
