Casa dei Libri

It seems like a fairy tale but it's reality: in Tambre, in Belluno, there is a beautiful contruction entirely made of wood with extraordinary details and particularities: it turns 30 years since its construction the House of Books. A house-museum entirely carved in wood by the Venetian artist Livio De Marchi, world-famous sculptor, who chose the Alpago, in particular the town of Sant'Anna in Tambre, to create a work full of details and extraordinary details. The only one in Italy and therefore more deserving of a visit that will surprise adults and children.

It will make book lovers dream just to the sight of the external walls, consisting of hundreds of books carved in wood, the roof is a huge open book while instead of the fireplace there is a large fountain pen. Also the outer fence is themed, consisting of a long row of pencils with the colored tip and with a large pair of glasses as a gate. The interior of the house is rich in a number of works that make up the furniture, all carved in wood.

Nearby you can take a quiet walk through the woods of the Cansiglio Forest, visit the Ethnographic Museum of the Cimbri in Pian Osteria and the Museum of Natural History in Chies d'Alpago.
