The Deer Path, or Troi del Cervo, is a trail that starts from the square in Tambre and immerses itself in the woods above, after crossing the beautiful residential village of Sant’Anna.
Nearby is the “lama” of Lamaraz, a typical karst depression enclosed with water, and the House of Books, a truly evocative structure made of wooden books created by the Venetian artist Livio De Marchi. Not far away is also the ANA headquarters of Tambre, in front of which stands one of the ancient Boundary Stones of the banned forest of the Serenissima of Venice between 1550 and 1798.
One continues towards the Sant’Anna Church until entering the wonderful beech forest of Cansiglio, climbing Col Saler up to the pastures of the Tambre alpine huts until reaching Val de Piera.
Exiting the forest, one reaches Malga Manteo, located on a beautiful panoramic terrace overlooking Alpago and Cansiglio, but also glimpsing what can be seen of the Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park.
From here begins the long descent through trails and dirt roads, which will bring you back to the village of Tambre.
