The Forest of Heroes is a path rich in history and memory, to remember the war and celebrate peace.
It is a circular itinerary that develops along significant places, between the Italian and Austro-Hungarian trenches, in the areas where thousands of unfortunate soldiers from both fronts fought, died, and were buried.
The trail in the forest follows the Cadorna mule track and then branches off along the war paths, where the original rural houses of those places, known as the Fojaroi, are still preserved today, characterized by their sloping roofs made of beech branches.
The trail of the Forest of Heroes is one of the many places that testify to the Great War on Mount Grappa, so much so that the path is accompanied by wooden sculptures made by local artists with the intention of continuously adding works that speak of peace over the years.
In addition to being rich in history, it is also a path immersed in nature, with a beautiful panoramic view of Feltrino and its Peaks, all surrounded by green pastures used for grazing with the related alpine huts that still produce fresh cheese today.
