The Hermitage of the Hermits, suggestive silences
From the parking lot beyond the bridge over the lake of Centro Cadore (municipality of Domegge), we ascend into the woods via a path or forest road until we reach this place, chosen by a group of hermit monks in the 18th century. They built a church, the convent, and chapels in the woods. Their simple story is connected to the grand European history, and we will discover how. The main building has been renovated and now houses a cozy refuge open all year round, a balcony overlooking Centro Cadore. Pack lunch or at the refuge.
Meeting at 9:30 AM.
Difficulty: medium-easy. Elevation gain: 400m. Time: 3-4 hours (excluding breaks).
