The Transpelmo is a mountain running race that unfolds around the impressive shape of Monte Pelmo in Val di Zoldo, in the UNESCO Dolomites World Heritage site. The route is a loop of 19.5 km (D+ 1450 m) starting from the town of Pecol, at the foot of the Civetta mountain range. Runners will face an initial climb through the woods, then continue at altitude on a wide trail, surrounded by vast pastures and stretches of larch trees, until reaching Rifugio Venezia, where the first refreshment point will be set up nearby.
From this point, the challenging ascent will begin, passing through an initial small pass leading to a steep scree and finally to the grandiose Forcella Val d'Arcia, the highest and most majestic point of the route (2607 meters).
The descent will take place down the long and constant scree until it joins the trail leading to Passo Staulanza, where the second refreshment point will be set up. After a short initial climb, the final phase of the descent will begin, which, passing through Pian dei Buoi, will lead to Palafavera to complete the final stretch arriving at Pecol.
An exciting adventure, discovering the different faces of the most well-known monolith of the Dolomites, referred to by many as the “Throne of God” due to the grandeur of its bulk.
