Santa Messa in ricordo della visita di Papa Giovanni Paolo II

In Punta Rocca Station is located the Grotta della Madonna, an unmissable destination for all those who decide to experience all the emotions of visiting the Marmolada.

It is a moment of profound reflection that one experiences in this sacred place, which takes the form of a cave but which holds within it strong emotions not only for religious pilgrims.

It’s a cave similar to those dug by soldiers in 1916-1917 as shelter from the elements and the enemy. The grotto is a symbol of peace and here you can admire the statue of the Madonna that was consecrated by Pope John Paul II during his visit to Marmolada on August 26th, 1979. Holy Mass can be celebrated upon previous reservation.

And precisely on 26 August 2025, the traditional Holy Mass will be celebrated to mark this important anniversary.
