The route, of great geological and landscape interest, is a long hike, immersed in a wild environment on the eastern edge of the Dolomites, therefore suitable for experienced hikers.
From Val Visdende, you park the car at Pra Marino loc. La Fitta. You proceed on foot along a convenient dirt road that follows the Lòndo stream up to the homonymous Casera. From here, you ascend on the comfortable path marked with trail number 167 until reaching Palombino Pass (2035 m). From the pass, you continue uphill along the Palombino Ridge (trail number 142). The ridge section offers splendid panoramic views.
Skipping the trail that ascends to the summit of Mount Palombino, you take trail number 142a descending to the right, crossing the Palombino Valley, and then you join the convenient dirt road known as "Strada delle Malghe". Be cautious along this descent section, as the trail tends to fade and signage is locally lacking. With a couple of hairpin bends, you reach Casera Dignas (1686 m) and from there back to the starting point (trail number 170).
Elevation gain: about 1,100 m. Difficulty: EE. Estimated duration: 6 hours (excluding breaks)
