WELCOME TO ARABBA!

In an original lecture not lacking in surprises and plot twists, born of the visceral love that binds the author/actor to his land, and in which the autobiographical note dominates over all notionism and affectation, Simon Kostner tries to give an answer to some questions of fundamental importance for anyone who wants to get closer to the culture and the true nature of these places and their inhabitants.

The Fodom Valley, one of the valleys surrounding the Sella massif, is also one of the five Ladin valleys in the Dolomites. In recent decades it has become an important tourist area, not only in our country, and is characterised by its breathtaking views, the unspoilt nature of the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the quality of its people's hospitality! The inhabitants of Fodom are part of an ethnic minority that has its own official language, Ladin.

Even today, around 90 per cent of the valley's population are native speakers of Ladin. Ladin culture and tradition are among the oldest in Europe and the world. For an exciting and entertaining journey to discover the peculiarities of the territory and its inhabitants!

SIMON KOSTNER Born in 1971, lives and works in La Ila (BZ) in Val Badia. He has developed, through continuous training and varied experiences, the multiple roles of actor, director, theatre writer, musician, researcher and interpreter of Ladin culture.
