In 1994, at the initiative of Prof. Sandro Cristel and Prof. Renzo Bortolot, the Summer Review of Historical Organs of Cadore was launched, which has represented, and continues to represent, a thread that ideally connects all the locations in Cadore and that, through the organ, an important and prestigious symbol for each community, unites the people of Cadore.
The itinerary links together the individual pieces of the organ heritage, giving ample scope to the concert program and, at the same time, is able to stimulate mutual knowledge and enhance the organ heritage.
Cadore, for historical reasons, possesses a rich organ heritage: in the territory of Cadore, there are more than 20 historical organs (essentially from the 18th and 19th centuries). The most represented authors are Venetians (Callido, Nachini, De Lorenzi), but there are also examples from Lombard authors (Aletti), Marchigiani (Gasparrini), and Roman (Tessicini). This heritage constitutes a "unique" feature at the national level.
The Association of Historical Organs in Cadore-Dolomites continues to organize the Summer Review of historical organs, now in its 30th edition.
In Cortina d'Ampezzo, there are two appointments:
- Friday, August 8 - Church of Madonna della Difesa - 14:30/18:30 Guided tour of the organs of the Churches of Cortina Lorenzo Marzona, Loris Serafini
- Saturday, August 9 - Parish Basilica of Ss. Filippo e Giacomo - 20:00 organ "Mauracher-Zeni" 1954-2002 Scott Brothers Duo, organ and piano.
