On Friday, November 28 at 8:45 PM, at the civic center of Sospirolo, there will be "The Black Cat", for the Veneto Spettacoli di Mistero series, a story among the most famous of Edgar Allan Poe's works, written in 1843, featuring a shadow show that narrates it in an unusual way.
The events are narrated from the perspective of the murderer, a death-row convict who, knowing he won't be believed, wants to reveal what happened to him, to lighten his conscience and explain what led him to his conviction. The murderer claims to have been terrorized by some seemingly supernatural events and wants to recount how they unfolded, hoping that some reader will find a more logical explanation than his.
The language and technique used have a great impact on the audience. The focal point of the scene is a small screen mounted on poles. There are no shields or partitions. The manipulator is visible and is an integral part of the show, which aims to bring the protagonist back on different levels: video, silhouettes, body shadow, manipulator.
On the screen, rear projections blend and alternate with front video projections. The video creates the backbone of the show, directing the audience's gaze to the narrator's face. The sound environment is entrusted to an electric bass and a loop station. The musical actions of Nelso Salton follow the development of the story live, completing and enriching the expressiveness of the images.
The evening concludes with a dialogue between the artists, Nicola Pauletti and Nelso Salton, and the audience.
Free participation.
