Becco di Mezzodì (2,603 m) is one of the most iconic peaks in the Ampezzo Dolomites, easily recognizable by its slender shape reflected in the crystal-clear waters of Lake Federa. Located southeast of Cortina d'Ampezzo, it offers breathtaking views of the Ampezzo basin and surrounding peaks like Sorapis, Antelao, and Pelmo.
Recommended routes:
- Trail 437 and 434: Starting from Ponte di Ru Curto, reach Rifugio Croda da Lago in about 2.5 hours, traversing forests and alpine meadows.
- Normal Route: From Forcella Ambrizzola, a 3-hour ascent with I°-II° grade passages, suitable even for less experienced hikers.
