On Thursday, October 30th at 8:30 PM, screening of the docufilm “Where the Roe Deer Swim” by Maria Conte. Graziosa Coffen, Giovanna Deppi, and Toni Sirena will participate.
The documentary gathers the memories of the small village of Vallesella (a fraction of Domegge di Cadore), which, in the early 1950s, following the construction of the dam and reservoir of Centro Cadore by S.a.d.e., began to crumble both physically and symbolically. The narrative, constructed together with testimonies, documents, and archival photos, broadens the perspective and scale of observation from past events to current uses and perceptions of the hydroelectric landscape, suggesting a reflection on the meaning of places, on the polysemic value of water, and on the destinies of the present and future mountains.
An event that brings to mind what would happen a few years later with the Vajont.
Graziosa Coffen and Giovanna Deppi, two of the people interviewed in the documentary, will be present, along with Toni Sirena, journalist and author of the book “The Vanished Village” which speaks about Vallesella.
Free admission.
