Cortina Design Week 2025
CortinaThird edition of the event dedicated to design topics.
Discover moreAn opportunity to explore the relationships between culture, anthropocentrism, wildlife and the environment, also through some works of art exhibited in the show.
An opportunity to learn from a different perspective about the artists present, connecting them to their respect for nature and in particular for the animal world.
And to notice how this can be related to a singular artist from the Dolomites, Paolo Barozzi, whose important retrospective is hosted by the Mario Rimoldi Modern Art Museum, open until October 5.
“Our culture – says the ethologist – is imbued with an anthropocentrism that has millennia of history. Anthropocentrism, understood as the view that places the human being at the center of the universe and considers it superior and distinct from the rest of nature, is the foundational thought of the three major monotheistic religions and various other religions and human cultural traditions.”
Paola Peresin, conservation biologist and wildlife expert, founded the Master in wildlife management – Master fauna at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. Graduated in Biological Sciences from the University of Padua with a thesis on the beak polymorphism of the Reed Bunting (Emberiza schoeniclus), she has collaborated on various wildlife projects.
Author of the book Bestiary. A small dictionary of great bioequivocations, Kellermann Editore 2023. She has a book on the history of the reappearance of wolves in Veneto in the process of publication, titled SLAVNIK.
