Up there in the mountains between forests and golden valleys, there are Trees and Herbs that have always accompanied man on his path of evolution, transformation and healing. On this excursion through woods and mountain plains at the foot of the Cime d'Auta, we will meet them, honour them, get to know them and, if they allow, reveal their properties and curiosities. Discovering the alimurgical and officinal plants of the Val del Biois.
Our excursion, in collaboration with the Environmental Hiking Guide Ester Andrich, begins at Forcella L'Agazon, where we will take the forest road that plunges through the woods, climbing north-west towards the Cime d'Auta. After a little more than a kilometre we will take a steep path that will lead us up to the natural panoramic terrace where Baita Colmont stands; here we will also have a special view of all the Dolomite peaks surrounding the valley. We then continue for a short distance on the path northwards to explore the mountain plateau above the Baita. For the return journey, we follow our steps back down to the junction encountered on the outward journey for an alternative path (marked but not numbered on the map) leading towards Baita dei Cacciatori. This time we will continue southwards, remaining on path 687, which will take us to the hamlet of Feder (where we will have left some cars in the morning, and then retrieve the others at Forcella L'Agazon).
During the course of the day, we will alternate the more traditional parts of the hike in the mountains with talks and contents illustrated by Ester, to discover the alimurgic and officinal plants present along the way and their use, as per local tradition. We will tune in to the plant world, whose properties and curiosities will be revealed, thanks to which man has approached them, and they to man. Starting from their colour, shape and place in the ecosystem, we will breathe in their Essence and also listen to the message they have for each of us today.
Reservations are accepted until 16:00 on the day before the excursion.
