Bus del Buson

Bus Del Buson

The Bus del Buson, in the Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park, is a deep dry gorge about 250 metres long carved by the water of the Ardo. The river stopped running in this course when it started running about 150 metres lower, but left the rocks smooth and polished.

A circular trail will guide you through this spectacular natural amphitheatre: you will enter a magical world, from some other time.

After Bus del Buson, keep going until you reach Pont de la Mortis suspended over another picturesque gorge, also crossed by the crystal-clear water of the Ardo Stream.

Curiosities and tips

  • Would you like a pleasant digression? You can reach the 7th Alpine lodge, at the foot of the Schiara and the alpine path called Alta Via No. 1
  • The sinuous walls are carved into the limestone rock called Biancone
  • Are you curious about the fog that sometimes descends to the city from the Ardo Valley? According to one legend, it is caused by devils playing under the Pont de La Mortiss
  • Its natural amphitheatre, called the Stone Auditorium, hosts the Harmonies music festival every summer
